There is a bad news. Before you go to china, please note that according to some order form Delhi high court, seems from now on MCI will not issue eligibility certificate to students going to china to study medicine. The reason being that no chinese medical schools is listed in the indian council medical act1956.
So if you are going to study Medicine in China , then you can not take screen test and cannot Register in India.

This news has come in major newspapers in Delhi.Suggest you to check with MCI before you leave for China.

If any of the readers of this Forum have more and accurate information, please come out for the benefit of students going to China.

icon_smile.gif Thanks 4 ur suggestion! I too came to know bout the case going on regarding mbbs in china. it is really a serious matter! But I came to know from a consultancy[saraswationline.com] that a stay order has been put forward for the case regarding eligibility certificate , which would now allow the students to study in china and also obtain the eligibility cert. This message has been brought forward in some of the news channels in kolkata! So, I think there will b no problem afterwards! However, please , if anybody has perfect and latest information regarding the stay order forwarded by the Kerela High Court , then inform me! Moreover, I have very less time to take any decission, so, help me and the other students! icon_question.gif icon_sad.gif icon_smile.gif icon_cry.gif

this information is not latest now! the latest is that the interim order from delhi high court has been given on 31st july,06.that day mci respondant was present but he asked for some time to file a reply for their delay in court. so, the court could not wait till their reply for which it gave the interim order to carry on with the process of giving eligibility certificates to the students going to china or any other country! however, the last hearing is on 5th september,2006.everybody knows by now that mci has lost the case n so, the students will go in october this year to china or any other country...
well, hope 4 the best...byeeeeeee

Hi Mammu,

I don't think MCI will have any objection in students studying whereever they like. In fact all that i understand was that in another case filed by a girl much earlier, a judge gave a ruling(though not related to the case, actually the case was related to some age restricton) that MCI has to issue eligility certificate only as per approved list of IMC. This has put the students in serious of trouble and MCI had no other choice except to follow that ruling.
Let us hope that on 5th Sept, MCI will return to their original stand.

don't worry,
all these r done by mci to delay the admission of the students in foreign countries n shift to the donation asking colleges.....
all will b all right by september since parents have started taking admissions for their children in their respective universities...
