Well, well .it seems that many of you are worried about the PG entrance already.
My dears go slow. You are just at the beginning of your journey.Stay with the flow. What you are going to learn now is the foundation of your lives and career in Medical field.

When in second MBBs do your subjects thoroughly .Pharmac and patho are very important for PG entrance.Don't take short cuts.Read Robbins and KDT from cover to cover.Believe me,this will pay off in the long run.

Third MBBS part 1 is the time when you should start your PG prep, not before. So chill and do your paraclinicals really well.Ultimately ,it is these which count in entrances.

Ok dr.dude, first take a deep breath and say-"I am gonna make it".

Then fix yourself a daily time-table.

1.Pharmac-your biggest challenge. You must do one chapter per day.Start with the very important ones like cardiac drugs or penicillins.Do one chapter a day .Today you could do anti-anginals.Tomorrow peptic ulcer drugs, this way.Don't be rigid about the system..whatever you feel like and what is often asked.Learn those drugs by heart.Tripathi is the book. Also buy his mcq book and immediately solve the Qs from that. This should take 2 hours of your daily schedule.

2.Pathology -Go Qbank wise.Take 2 long answers each day and learn them by heart from Harsh Mohan. This should take you about 1 and half hour.

3.Microbiology -Read one bacteria/.virus on every alternate days.this should take you 1-1 and half hour. Thus totally 5 hours of study per day along with you college.

4.Forensic -on days when you do not read micro read a chapter of Forensic .Solve the mcqs from singhal. If you continue this, within 3 months you will have covered all your portion once.

Dont give up.Dont try to compare with others. The time of comparison is only in exam and never before.

Reserve your best for the prelims and finals.Enjoy being a dark horse.enjoy being a winner.

OK Shunty. This is your year where you can enjoy and learn at the same time. The key is "BE REGULAR" so that you can have fun as well.

Pharmacology :It is a test of your memory and nothing else.So dont bother about making it interesting by reading satoskars or Katzungs.K.D.Tripathi is the best book to score and learn pharmac at the same time.Stick to it even if some of the internal exams are based upon Other texts.Finals are the most important and trust me KDT is going to give you a D if you read it 3-4 times.

As I have mentioned before,do only one category of drugs everyday and that too 3 days of the week only. Will take you 3 hours.Make notes or learn it directly -but finish it.Category means-diuretics,anti hypertensive, aminoglycosides -like these.

Pathology :This is a bit of a dilemma.Robbins is the ultimate. But Harsh Mohan is great for the exams.Go through both and decide for yourself. Both followers get through in the exams.First give a good read of all topics. At least 25 pages per day. Then start studying using Qbank and Q-A format.

Read it for the remaining 3 of your weekdays.

Now Sunday:Meant for Micro and Forensic med.
Micro-Ananthnarayan is the big boss.No competition.Parasitology-I found Ichupujani adequate.Chatterjee was a bit difficult to grasp for me.
2 chapters to be done every sunday.

Forensic -Reddy is a great book.Even tocxicology given well there.Or you can use singhal's toxicology booklet.Read 1 chapter every sunday and solve mcqs from singhal's mcq book.

Rest of the sunday afternoon and night -enjoy!Freak out with friends, watch a movie just relax.

Try it .

Ignore it.If there is an exam -for quick reading use sheshu babu. That will help you tide over exams.

Well go for AAA(Amit,Ashish,Arvind) by pulse publications.Do the first and second MBBS subjects MCQs.They are given chapter-wise and so you can easily read one chapter at a time and then solve related mcqs.

As for the books,I have already mentioned them.Dont think too much of the future.Be right here right now.Take your time to leran basics or else you will end up with superficial knowledge.

Remember, all toppers in the entrances are those who know their texts well rather than mcqs.
