As this is ur very first year but an imp and very basic one u need to conc more on Physiology and Anatomy regarding books choice is urs acc to time and effort u can put
for Anatomy go for BD chaurasia and Snells snell will help u in pg prep too read inderbir singh for embryology and poddar for neuroanatomy

while regarding physio if u hv enough time go for guyton , if u hv not much time u can hv A K jain or ganong if u want gud marks but if u still hv less time and just want to pass go for chaudhary or sembulingam

regarding biochem rane and shinde is the best book but its very volumnous u can go for Harper, lippincott or the most easiest satyanarayan but i suggest u for rane shinde or lippincott

Quick Scroll hello 09.21.06 (1 year ago) #7

one shouuld not go for USMLE etc at this very stage becz u hv just entered this field however try to be very clear about the basics and if u still want to do some prep from now just pick up the standard books and not the books which only help u to pass u can go for SNELL'S ; GUYTON ;nd HARPER regarding the key to get through first prof is ones regularity nd power to mug up pnemonics can hep a lot in Anatomy nd biochem cycles i dont think classroom notes r that bad
u may get problems initially but with time u would be used to all that stuff nd just dont put down ur books on even a single day 2-3 hrs a day are more than sufficient if one study regularly i think its enough nd if u hv some taste regarding novels go for DOCTORS by ERICH SEGAL that would realy help u nd make u more aware about our profession
