Quick Scroll Experiences: My Visa Experience 08.12.06 (1 year ago) #1

Hey Everyone,

several sleepless nights and anxious hours later, i got a 10 year multiple entry yesterday...absolutely relieved!

The VO was very pleasant ...and smiled a lot.

The interview was ultra short :
She started with a wide grin and the usual
`Hi ....How are you today?`
`Why do you want to go to US?`
`What is the advantage of doing a residency in US medical schools`
`Where will you be staying`
`How long do you intend to stay there`
`Do you plan to do your residency there`
`Are you a practising doctor here?`
`What do you want to be`

Your passport will be soon delivered to you

It seemed like a dream...2 minutes later i was out.
My entire folder of documents was left untouched...the contents of which i had painstakingly labelled the previous day.

The documents which i carried to the interview :

1. interview appointment letter

2. hdfc receipt

3. passport

4. ecfmg visa letter

5. CS scheduling permit

6. CS confirmation letter

7. Score reports.....Step1 and Step2 CK

8. Degree certificate and mark sheets

9. Property papers

10.IT receipts for past 3 years

11.Bank statements

12.Liquid assets

13.Covering letter from employer

14.Invitation letter for accomodation in US + Photocopy of Green Card of the relative

Most importantly....be cool and confident.

Quick Scroll Hi 08.13.06 (1 year ago) #7

congrats tinkerbell,

My visa experience was also one of the great moments of my life.

it was 3 days back

i was asked only 1 question i.e. have u taken ur steps.n not even a single document was seen ( which i was also arranging propely since long)

n then VO told u r being granted the visa...go n enjoy.

regarding documents, all that tinker told is sufficient n well explained.

i think the thing i.e. most important is confidence n ur presentation i.e. how u present urself

good luck to all n bye

you may apply till the 1st of december...but try to fill in the applications by end of september if possible.

the earlier you apply , the better are your prospects of making it in the match....programs start scouting for candidates to interview by october.
