Bone marrow transplant may be recommended for:
1.Abnormal red blood cell production, such as thalassemia or sickle cell disease
2.Aggressive cancer treatments (chemotherapy, radiation therapy), especially for leukemia or lymphoma
3.Lack of normal blood cell production (aplastic anemia)
4.Immune system disorders (immunodeficiency) such as:
a)Congenital neutropenia
b)Severe combined immunodeficiency syndrome.

I THINK ALLOGENIC BMT IS STILL BEING DONE FOR CML !!!! .
ALPHA INTERFERON IS GIVEN WHEN BMT IS NOT FEASIBLE.
ALSO HYDROXY UREA IS GIVEN FOR CHRONIC CML ...

WHAT ARE THE OPINION OF OTHERS ????

well, what does everyone think about ALL ? 85% of children and 50% adults repond to combined chemotherapy. this is indeed a good question and i request u to noise ur doubts about why ALL can't be the answer ? let's discuss it out.

hey ........ bmt is not treatment recomended(though allogenic is practised) for CML and treatment of choice is usually hydroxy urea.......
