culdocentesis is a procedure widely used in the past to detect haemoperitoneum.laparotomy shoud be done when culdocentesis is positive.
now laparoscopy is considered as the definitive diagnostic procedure for an ealy diagnosis of ectopic preg.
so ans sud be laparoscopy in both
usg can easily miss a small ectopic preg unless it is a transvaginal

hmm. culdocentesis has its own limitations with both false positive & false negative results.
diagnostic laparoscopy is the most definitive invs in unruptured ectopic.
however with ruptured ectopic the choice is mostly based on the pt's hemodynamic status , if she is stable laparoscopy is indicated
if hemodynamically unstable laparotomy is the choice
