Hi all,
I don't know but I think I am confused...
I am graduated last year, and got surgery residency but droped that cos all I want is to go US and do residency there.....
So To be certain I choose MPH/MS path for that... and got F1visa, but deferred it for next semester so I can give MLE exams...
but now I am afraid that I will get Residency or not, it is becoming difficult day after day...... the cut throat competition between IMGS!!!
I have already done so much sacrifices.... like sacrificed Surgery seat, going away from Family, friends, relatives, country..... I don't know for what???
Sometime I think of leaving this MLE and stuff and think of doing PG here... getting seat in state PG exam is not a problem at all for me...
I have heard some people are going abroad when they don't get PG over here, but in my case I am going to sacrifice my career in India. If I will get residency in US then it is fine but if not then!!!!! this thought rattles me
Please people give me solace, courage, opinion, suggestion whatever you think... just drop a line... God bless you all

Thanks Fragile_x ....
I am trying and trying hard... let's see what happens...
You know one thing that people are visiting forum when they are in need, and when they want some information and after they become sucessfull then they forget to guide other persons or tell their experiences......
I think everybody who is trying for any exam must not to forget vising forum and giving their view after they become successfull in their goal... that will help a lot to get a credible information....
When I have booked my visa interview date and preparing for visa interview at that time I come across to some Forums.. in that forums peoples are posting their positive and negative experiences, interview procedure and all and that is very helpful for me when i gone for my visa interview.... So just like that everybody should post their experiences about USMLE
and Residency...... both negative and positive... so you have better idea...
thanks

Girte hain shahsawaar hi Maidan-e-jang me... Woh tifl kya girenge, jo ghutno ke bal chala karte hain.
U have dared to follow ur own dreams, go ahead and fight it to d end.
What i think is simple, if i don't get a residency in my first attempt, i'll try n try till i achieve my target.
But i'll get what I like and not like what i get.
Don't get disheartened, there is never a dearth of seats in US for d deserving n perseverant.
Good luck and God bless!

Dr euphoria....!
Well, if you think the prospects after doing a PG in India are great, then it only takes people like me to dash your hopes. Especially the general surgeon is hard-put nowadays and rarely gets anything better than Hernias and hydroceles. So, better stick to your original plans...!
Me, Ihave a different set of problems...! Having never thought abt the MLE, its now become a do or die problem for me, after i have completed a MD pediatrics PG in India. I have a fiancee who is hell-bent on joining her sister in the US...! And i'm getting lugged along in the process...!
At this moment I'm looking back at all those 3 yrs in my PG, and wondering if they are going to be the most useless years of my life...!
