Are you a UK national but graudated outside the EU?

Are you facing problems with applying and understanding the system in this aspect?

If so, PLEASE join this forum, because I've written to several MP's to pursue our case in our favour.

Did you know that if you were an EU citizen (EXCEPT UK!) but graduated outside the EU, YOU ARE AUTOMATICALLY exempted from IELTS and PLAB exams and can directly Register with the GMC.

UK citizens have to sit the IELTS and PLAB exams. Even after, will have alot of problems with registration, because we need to be given a job offer for that. And to get a job offer you need to be registered! So its like pig in the middle!!!!!

Join this forum if you are a UK national, so that we can lobby our case collectively.

Hey drpentium,, im in the eatly stages of my internship in dubai, and im just over with the stupid plab business stuff, sorry to use that word, its just frustrating.
Yes u can do F1 if u pass the PLAB. But bear in mind that there are so many changes occuring within this time in particular.
Before, you shouldnt have started your internship. Now their saying you shouldnt of completed your internship. God know what their gonna say later on.

The next thing I'd like 2 say, is that most UK citizens that graduated outside the EU are of different ethnic backgrounds--> mainly Asians.

Please note that this is'nt an advisory board i posted. I posted this so that we can form a large group to support our claim for emplyment equality.

I'm tying to get as many UK nationals to support this forum so that I can present it to one of my MP' thats following up this claim.

If any Uk national wants to join this group, to get the message through to the UK parliment. I need to have your contact details by February 2007.

I'll give out my e-mail prior to this date, depending on the number of UK citizens join this forum.
The minimum we need is just 10.

Dear Lado, I'd like to help you out, but im dedicating this forum for just one cause. That is to collect as many UK citizens - overseas graduates under one umbrella for a formal complaint against the format applied to UK nationals for registering as PRHO SHO's in the UK.
I believe it should be the same as any other EU member state, or even better.

Go to the MMC website you'll find it there..
regards

I already have passed the message on to Gerard Batten, he's a member of the European parliment and hes fighting the case for us.
PLEASE E-MAIL HIM, and tell him you share the same problems like me with registration with the GMC UK. aND THAT ITS unfair to go through all these exams when our european counterparts that graduated from the same counry and uni as ours arent.
It would also be a good idea to mention my name Walid Deeb. So that he knows the problem isnt just mine. I passed the PLAB already, but im fighting for something that bothered me throughout.
so even if u havnt done the IELTS or PLAB tests, u should still write to him so that you could possibly be exempted from all this hassle.

And by the way guys, even if u pass your PLAB , youll still have problems getting your registration. And you'll only come to know about that once youve passed the PLAB .

A journalist wrote to me in this aspect, he was REFERRED by the MP. hE'LL BE MAKING A STORY ABOUT OUR CASE.........

This is what he wrote to me:-
Dear Walid

Gerard Batten MEP has passed on the details of your case to me. I am a journalist with contacts in the national press and broadcast media and I am now in the process of preparing a story on the discrimination that you, and no doubt others, are suffering as a consequence of misapplication of EU regulations. I should be grateful if you could send me any other material you may have on the subject.

Regards

David Sinclair

Please E-mail Gerard Battens secretary and express your concerns. The concern which matters to us is that 'why should EU nationals that graduated *outside* the EU be exempted from PLAB and IELTS , whilst on the other hand UK national that graduated *outside the EU are not.
Tell her that you share the same concerns as Walid Deeb. The reason I want you to write to her, is that our voice will be heard.

HER E-MAIL IS robson.lynnda (at) btinternet.com

THIS IS WHAT YOU CAN DO NOW!!!!!
i'LL TELL U WHAT TURNS UP LATER.

Quick Scroll changes to registration 10.16.06 (1 year ago) #7

hi dr deeb i am also a uk citizen and a post plabber with the same views as you.i took this matter up with the GMC and told them clearly that this is a clear discrimination.they replied that we are aware of this and we are abolishing the limited registration soon,so as to make the IMG`S stand on common grounds with the uk graduates and the EEA graduates.thereafter either provisional registration or full registration will be granted to the IMG`S without having an offer of a job.now that will go in our favour.one thing i agree with you that PLAB should be abolished for the uk citizens just as the europeans do not take the test. if u want to contact me u can do so here in this forum or on my email.

Dear colleagues
PLEASE POST EVERYTHING HERE......

If you decide to raise this to the court of LAW, we need to help out eachother on this in speaking to an appropriate lawyer.
It will be costly i guess.

Dear colleagues;
please write to ALLL the MP'S AND MEP'S EXPRESSING YOUR concern on this stupid situation we have to face.

Gerard Batten has taken a good step in helping us, but thats not enough.
You can also e-mail the Prime minister himself.
The department of health, the British Medical association, ROSE and the UK press etc....

Basically WE SHOULD TRY TO PUBLICIZE this to as many people as possible to get attention in to this matter.

JUST COPY AND PASTE THE DETAILS.
I was even thinking of publishing leaflets and distributing them at West minister etc to raise public awareness of the discrimination British national have to face, whilst not applicable to EU nationals.

Dear Osama, thx for your contribution, pls email me a copy of what you wrote to
