malunion according to me .
maheshwari says "a figure of eight bandage may be applied to a young adult wirh a displaced fracture. rarely is open reduction required , either when the fracture is associated with neurovascular damage or in some cosmetically concious patients."
this proves that neurovascular damage is rare.
nonunion is definitely out : clavicular # usually unites even if widely displaced.

Most common indications for Clavicular fixation are five
1. Fracture of lateral end of clavecle with disruption of coraco clavicular ligaments
2. Floating shoulder (that is fracture clavicle and displaced fracture humerus)
3. Nonunion of clavicle. The Most frequent indication for surgery.
4. Neurovascular injury.
5. Widely displaced fragments with soft tisuue(usually deltoid) interpostion.
Although malunion does occur frequently, it can not be considered as a complication of fracture, as rarely causes functional impedence. Surgery for cosmetic purposes should be viewed with caution as there is a higher risk of non union and a small but significant risk of neurovascular injury. These have to be discussed with patients opting for surgery for malunion and to persuade them otherwise.

sir, i agree that practically speaking , malunion may not be considered as a complication of clavicular fracture, but, from mcq's point of view , where we should mark the most appropriate response , i think we should go for malunion as the answer ( it is the most frequent event after # clavicle).

It is Malunion due to the muscle attachment and muscle pull. commmuntion and interposition of soft tissue/bone fragments/periosteum may leads to non union for which treatment is surgery with medullary pins/wires or plate & screws.
annal.
