Quick Scroll is it wise? 11.10.06 (1 year ago) #1

is it wise for me to appear for MRCS part 1 in april 2007????
or should i wait for the new MRCS to be introduced and then go for the new one???
( i was wondering.. if i give my MRCS part 1 in april.. then wat will be the benefit of me giving it? as i wouldnt be able to complete my MRCS ? as the new MRCS wil be introduced by t hen and then il have to give the new one..?
so should i wait for the new MRCS to be introduced and concentrate on foundation 2?? or even if i give MRCS part 1 in april i can still complete my MRCS all three parts by 2010?HELP

Hello Sehroo

Im sure you must have found more details about this if your actually plannign on giving MRCS part 1.
But if i remember right i read saying that, u have to have atleast attempted part 2 in Aprl 2007 to fall under the old category and then even if u fail it after sitting it in 2007 april then u can complete part 3 by 2010.
Which means you have to sit part 1 by Jan 2007 if im correct.
Good luck , If i were you i would just concetrate on F2 or if there is any oppurtunity give part 1 a go in jan if its possible.
Good luck

There's no harm in taking the Membership exams... Either after MBBS or after/along with Post graduate Surgical training.

But the membership exams are worthless without appropriate post graduate surgical training.

sehroo concentrate on FY2... you can take the exam anytime.

Good luck.

if u have completed MRCP then situation is slightly better, but if u have done MRCP then our own country is also a good option.
