4.BONE-SCAN.
ANSWER GIVEN IS MRI BUT WHY NOT BONE SCAN ?

while nuclear scan is more sensitive mri is more specific..
pls remember they have not specified the nature of bone scan..i mean even dexa can be used..

this patients clinical symptoms point towards diagnosis of avascular necrosis, hence mri is the investigation of choice.

i am thnking in terms of steroid related cushings features..
well mri is qualitative and dexa is quantitative..
for the endocrinologist dexa is more important..
for the surgeons mri is more important..
