hi friends ,
what's next after passing both parts AMC ????? what are the pathways to job in auzie ? is supervised training necessary for all candidates including those with long post-graduation experience like 10 yrs ?
i passed PLAB last year ,left the UK disappointed , sat my MRCP written in July and preparing for taking PACES next summer , but i want to embark on the AMC adveture but not willing to face yet another disappointment with the Anglosaxons !!!!
any illuminating threads on this tangle ????? given that i'm not optimistic about AON prospects which often require UK experience for consideration ????

dear bulimia thanks fro your care , so if i got my registration with one of the territory medical boards i will then be able to apply for jobs , is it not so ? what are the most likely medical boards that grant registration without supervised training period , let's say there's a hospital that's willing to employ you , will they give you a job contract or offer to take to the medical board to convince them to admit you in the Register ( like the procedure in the UK , even with a locum post ) ? and by the way is there a system of locum like that in the UK ?

Quick Scroll Hi 12.26.06 (1 year ago) #4

I think if U have some exp in UK hosp for a reasonable time-- U can apply as yr 1 or yr 2 RMO here with temporary registration under hosp sponsored.
Then U must take AMC- 1 & 2 while working ( less time to study but if U wish to come here- that's the only way)
Try not only metropolitan hosp but also some regional hosp
if U have GP exp in UK- then try AON job in remote GP
U can't work as a locum here unless U have been assessed as GP & granted for temporary registration
Plz make an written inqury to RACGP site
Search all hosp jobs of OZ in google by typing hosp of Au & go into individual site & find out
Only that much I know -

cheers
