khurana is more exam oriented compared to parson...if u have ample time, read parson..'coz it is easy to understand..in khurana it is like"such an such a thing exists"...where as in parson ..they explain the wholething..so that u understand it in detail..then when u read khurana..it is better..
in my personal opinion..read parson for understanding theory and revise thoroughly with khurana..'coz parson cannot help u in listing out points in exam as khurana can..
in brief..khurana has everything listed out point wise..u can reproduce it as such in exam..parson has good pictures n all those stuff..looks better..u'll feel like reading it..

Aim NEET PG

Hi this is Chirag from SBKS Medical College, Baroda..
just entered the 6th sem..

Can someone guide me thoroughly in a stepwise manner on how to go about in this semester.. i mean every aspect including ug and pg entrance exams.. which books to use for the main study and which one for pg entrance or as reference...

And one more question is which topics to read from harrison and wht to read from Davidson?

I would be highly obliged... thanks!

rmh

since u have stepped in ur 6th sem.. u have lots of time.. Advice given by my seniors was to read the topics on symptomatology from vol 1 harrison first… Coz it helps u for ur clinical postings… as u are studying all clinical subjects from ur part 1 right?
Then u could start with systems.. If lectures of medicine n surgery are conducted simultaneously in ur college u could read those systems which are being covered up.. Or else u could read infectious diseases.. as it covers Microbiology (which u have already answered) and PSM (communicable and non comm diseases… which u wud be reading now)
But mind you… studying PSM , oph,ENT is more impoRtant.. u need to devote more time to these subjects.. as u will be answering them at the end of ur 7th sem..
Read PSM thoroughly.. as u read it u will realize dat it contains topics from Medicine, Gynec,Paediatrics also… and this would be a repetition for u in ur 8th n 9th sem.. n will help u a lot..!!! Frequent revision is also required coz PSM is volatile.. One tends to forget it soon.. Group discussion really helps ya.. U could discuss them with ur collegemates
Attend ur clinics regularly… as u learn a chunk of ENT n ophthalm during ur postings.. As ur eyes see..what ur mind knows..!!
Medicine, surgery could be read during 6th sem…and during ur clinical postings.. but once u r in ur 7th sem u should be reading and revising only ENT ophthalm PSM .. and discussing them with ur batchmates …
Have a studious time...
with regards
rashmila
