If an international student did his undergraduate medicine in the UK and after 2 years of foundation programme, qualifies for HSMP according to the new points calculating system, does this mean for sure he will get an HSMP visa? if it's not for sure, then how likely is it for him to get the HSMP visa?

Once someone gets the HSMP visa, how likely is it that he gets a job? Is he considered on the same level as british/ european doctors?

Thanks !

If someone qualifies for the HSMP... it is very much likely that he/she will be granted the HSMP.
Most who are refused... either submit the application without appropriate documentation OR have miscalculated their points.

Once someone gets the HSMP Visa...
They are counted equal to any and everyone for jobs that are within the period of HSMP. For jobs that are of longer duration that the HSMP visa they are second to the British/EU candidates.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply munish. And where does it leave the dependant of someone on HSMP considering the dependant has passed the PLAB ? Is he/she viewed equally as british/european graduates when applying for posts in the NHS?

Well I think you don't know the new changes about HSMP visa holders. If you hold a HSMP visa granted after 7th February or have your entry clearence after 29th February you will not be able get training posts which are FY1, FY2, SHO, ST1, ST2, ST3 etc. So there is no furture for IMG docs who want to train in the UK anymore. Check this:
