Quick Scroll CaRMS 2007 match experience 03.13.07 (1 year ago) #1

Hello
I should have posted the thread on March 14th itself. Below is a list of questions (16 such). Questions are intended for those who have been successfully matched. Please answer them if you donot mind. It would help us immensely in understanding the process of selection and help us plan our future.

*Basic medical training year
*additional qualification
*years of active clinical practice (after basic)
*years not working in clinics (as doctor)/gaps
*work experience in North America
*observership experience duration
*research experience duration
*any elective experience
*any clinical experience in North america
*letter of recommendation from clinical contact/ observership/ home country/ north america
*publication/abstracts
*MCC exams (with scores if you donot mind)
*IMG assesment? (levels & subject with scores if you donot mind)
*programs applied
*interview offers
*program matched- which province and subject

My apologies if you find this thread inappropriate. If you find it objectionable (intrusion on privacy- who am i to ask all these questions, etc) please do let me know.

I thought all members of this section of the forum needed some guidance on the match process and this was the only reason why i started this thread. it would also help me a lot.

Please donot forget to share your views like adding a few more questions to the list, etc and please donot forget to share your own experience.

My very best wishes to all
Thanks

i got in thru img bc assessment program, during which they like to see you confident with decent english and you should be able to grasp the work given to you quickly. the college registrar told us, "we are looking for 3 As in you
1.adaptibility
2.availiblity
3.affability"
and in my opinion you just need to be lucky...
