Human tear true is;
1. ph 7.8 → True
Quote:
The pH of the tear film as formed by continuous tears varies from 6.5 to 7.6, with a mean value of 7.
Reflex tears are somewhat more consistent with pH values ranging from 7.5 to 8. Reflex tears obtained directly from the tear secretory ducts are slightly more acid, ranging in pH from 7.10 to 7.99 The tears become more alkaline as they move toward the excretory ducts, owing to the loss of carbon dioxide.
Age, sex, time of examination, or the presence of a pterygium or pingueculum seems to make little difference

2. shift to acid side with injury → True as well
Quote:
shift toward more acid tear film
i. Inflammatory conditions of the cornea or conjunctiva
ii. prolonged closure of the eyelids

3. Not imp in corneal regeneration after corneal injury .→ False
Quote:
pre-corneal tear film
i. Provides lubrication
ii. transfers oxygen from the ambient air to the cornea
iii. Fills in and smoothes out small surface irregularities in the corneal epithelium, thereby maintaining it as a perfect, smooth, and regular optical surface.
iv. tear film also removes exfoliating cells and provides another pathway for inflammatory cells to reach the central cornea

4. none
