i think if you r a surgical person then ophthal, both r terminal branches.light branches, it depends on ur personality whether u want to be physician or a surgeon . i personally think ophthal is more gratifying than skin, but skin is easier to settle than ophthal.

thanx sheesu, i have opted for ophth ,,,its a cool branch, with very good life,satisfied no of pts ,,only disadvantage is setup any way "when their is a will their is a way ".

OPHTHALMOLOGIST told me that govt is spending so much on camp surgeries that their practice is going down day by day. some OPHTHALMOLOGIST were so sad n said that even its getting difficult for them to pay huge EMI for the loan they had taken for lasers,autoref etc

n skin is a very decent branch. loads n loads of cases AS VERY VERY FEW DERMATOLOGISTS ARE THERE (AS VERY FEW SEATS OF PG.)

n skin is a promising branch COZ OF COSMETIC SURGERIES N LASER TREATMENT(oh god i went to a skin Dr to get my mole on face removed, he took 2500/- n that too after i told dat m a medico, otherwise he would hav charged......)
seriously give it a thought! as i too have changed my mind n would opt Anaesthesia n never optha.

cuz ive taken all india seat in ophthal kanpur, and hav a skin seat in manipal.... im thinking of choosin ophthal considering the fees in manipal beides the recognition drecog mess.... plz opine
