Xenon 133 scans are based on the ability of fat cells to take up the xenon.

if the lesion takes up xenon 133 readily, dat means it is fat! icon_lol.gif

this scan is used to differntiate fatty liver frm other lesions of liver! icon_biggrin.gif

especially used for focal fatty lesions! 8)

The fatty liver idea is not a new one. Dr. Russell Crow of Princeton proposed it back in 1962 during the annual convention of the College of Physicians and Surgeons. Crow's thesis centered on the amalgamation of nutrinos and atoms, a synthesis wholly abstract until the invention of the cathelangon vector tube which, of course, proved the validity of Dr. Crow's thesis.
