Sajida...........the links looks very good..............unfortunately i could not open and play the video........got error message.........did u manage to open it?

I can see the scripts etc but video is not opening.

poits to remember

1--identify the pt-by name tag
check e iv or drug prescription chart if given
confirm name e pt
2-clean ur hands--
3--explain procedure to pt and ensure arm is comfortably supported
4--get all equipments------tray,cannula,alcohol wipe, s/gloves,stenel towel,5ml syringe,0.9% nacl,tourniquet
open sterile equipment onto sterile towel
5--apply tourniquate on the upper arm
6--inspect veins at best side usually forearm(never over a joint)
7--clean skin e alcohol--allow to dry
8--open and wear gloves
9--angel cannula at 30 degree--traction is applied a liitle below the point\of insertion will help to anchor the vein
10--puncture the skin--watch for flash back into clear chamber as u enter the vein
11--introduce cannula imm more-slightly reduce the angel f the needle to avoid going through the other side of the vein as this is advanced
12--ensure u hold the needle steady while advancing the cannula over it
hold the introducer needle steady and carefully advance cannula along the vein lumen -never attempt to withdraw e needle still in place
13--completely remove the tourniquete when cannula has been fully advanced
14--ensure pressure is aPPLIED ABOVE THE TIP OF THE CANNULA
15--OUT E INSERTION NEEDLE
16--FIT WHITE CAP TO INFUSION PORT IF NOT TO BE USED FOR INFUSION
17--PUSH THROUGH 5 ML 0.9% NACL
18--INSPECT SITE TO ensure no tissueing
19--put on a propriatry adhesive dressing
20--ensure to dispose of sharpse and west safely and properly

17............looks a bit confusing..........do we normally flush with normal saline...............? any one clear this point please............
