Hi IMG4343
Thanks
so how do we do these courses...are there any for gynae etc also cos i have not got any posts in gynae and have never done it....
how can we do these courses along side working??
and as u said abt the part one of the exams in october...thts the mcq one, isn't it?
and i went on the rcgp site but they have not clearly mentioned the dates etc.
are u planning to take the exam in october? if yes can you let me know the exact dates and are we given private study leaves in the rotation??

do u think it will be easier or better mebbe, for me to think abt taking the exam when i start my reg year that is next year.

and also, sorry but one last question, is it true that in our reg year we will have no on calls etc...i had thought we will still be required to do home visits as on calls?? is it not right??

hi misalk
1.Regarding gynae..dont worry.Even if u did't do u can learn ingp reg year.Mainly female docs are expected to know more.Any way i did't do psychiatry ect.We cant do every thing and in time learn them.U can do 3 day course of Family planning theory course which includes sexual health as well. After that u need todo some practical classes. This is useful in GP practice.
I am working in gynae now and its not that difficult to manage gp oriented cases.
2.Oct exam is MCQ one. This will be first exam.I am planning to take this exam.
3.If have time better complete it before starting GP REG year.
3.Regarding GP reg year--i am starting it in august. We have to do house calls. We have to do 70 hours out of hours in 1 year.
where r u starting your gp rotation?I saw your posts in GPVTS last time.i got this rotation in 3 rd attempt.

hello everybody
The new System is already functioning in U.A.E.
The MCQ exam was based on the pattern by the MCQ book by PETER ELLIS. If anyone would have thorughy worked on this book, it was easy to pass.I cleared with score of 120 out of 200.

I am preparing for the OSCE, WITTEN PAPER AND THE VIDOE MODULE FOR THE NOVEMEBER 2007.
I will write my experience writing the exam.
thanks
