Tips to prepare for the interview

It would be best to call Medical Staffing/HR and ask
them the format for the interview.
It varies from trust to trust.
SOme places they start off with CV discussion and then
they have Clinical Scenario discussion along with ECG
too.
I know of a friend who had a FY" interview with a
Virtual ward round too and stations.
So your best bet would be to speak to them and ask for
a clarification.
Just for safety sake know all about the Trust, detials
about the Hospital and they may ask you why you
applied to that Trust(this was a common question i
have been asked).
Know the definitions of important terms like Clinical
Governance, pillars of that and then about
MTAS,difference between research and audit.
Then go through the Medical Emergencies from Oxford
Handbook.

hello,
Ive been shortlisted by royal cornwall hospital, and have my interview on 4th may...Is it that we r all being interviewed by same hospital same day??or its varying???On speaking to HR dept they said there are 145 candidates for 70 posts. There will be 3 panelists 2 consultants and 1 HR staff. One station will have a scenario which you will need to perform (i suppose this is the communication skill one). The second station will have 3 qs which u will have to give a written answer to, and the interview will be a regular sort of interview. I would recommend those who have been shortlisted to call the HR staff and find out more info if they can,and spread it on this thread..it will be very useful to all of us..Its my first interview as well, and im really scared..Im on visit visa, anyone else like me who got shortlisted??in preparation of the portfolio how many assessment tools do we have to fill out??and what else are u going to add in there??any clues or ideas wud be welcome...

hi
ive been shortlisted for torbay-south devon.i spoke to HR they said we will get a sheet as soon as we arrive telling us what to do so no surprises but refused to give any other info.Regarding visa-check up with them beforehand. For clinical skills uve said u have achieved -what kind of proof do u give them?will written referances from ur consultants naming skills ur competent at ,suffice?or do u have to fill in some assessment forms and stuff? Also tell memore about the skills assessment -will it be talking on and disscussing case scenarios or role play situations?
