hello moderators
i had 4 f1 rejections for mph.recently i was issued a 3 month b1visa for cs. i have been to usa and cleared it.
now i applied for b1 visa for step 3 and got rejected on grounds of potential immigrant.need ur suggestions. should i apply for step3 again or should i apply for residency interviews. i appreciate your suggestions

hi,

did you not get a multiple year multiple entry visa from the US consulate?

do you have any family or close relatives in US? why do you think you were considered a potential immigrant.

most people get a 6 year or 10 year multi entry visa.....which means they can revisit US. Although the officer at the port of entry decides the duration of contiguous stay...which was 3 months in your case.

i did not get a 10 yr multiple entry visa. i got a 3 month multiple entry visa and once i landed in usa i got 6 month on i 94. i stayed for 4 months in usa , i just wanted to confirm that i passed cs b4 i came to india since i had only a short duration visa.as per the vo since i tried for f1 4 timed earlier i am very desperate to land in usa and settle there. she also asked about my salary in india which ofcourse will be low .

the intention behind step 3 is residency.i have to prove that i have strong reasons to return to India after my residency.the previous visa officers might have written strongly that i am a potential immigrant.how to argue strongly that i am gonna return.
any suggestions reg this area?

you can try and use two strategies.. one financial and the other emotional.
Financial = show your resources here...i.e property land, house, etc
Emotional = single child, deeply attached to family, roots in India..
