LATEST NEWS (Published 19:31 27/04/07)
The National Recruitment Office for GP Training appreciates that the last few weeks have been particularly frustrating and anxious for applicants and we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and understanding regarding delays which are outside of our control.
Please do not contact the NRO or individual deaneries for more information at this busy time. This office and the deaneries are working hard to ensure that you will now receive the correct outcomes in the most timely manner.

The NRO should be in a position to communicate the GP Selection Centre results for deaneries in England and Wales directly to applicants, by e-mail, during the 2nd week of May. Applicants who have declared GP as their first choice specialty preference and do not require a work permit will be considered first for a training programme in the deanery where they attended Selection Centre. Offers will be made directly by the deanery and may or may not contain details of the individual training programme being offered. Acceptances must be returned to the deanery within 7 days.

Any remaining appointable applicants who declared GP as 1st choice specialty and do not require a work permit will then be considered for remaining vacancies at deaneries to which they originally applied.

Vacancies remaining after this will be held until June 8th for GP applicants (who do not require a work permit) who are unsuccessful in obtaining a post in their preferred specialty. If vacancies remain after this, the NRO will conduct a full ‘clearing’ system.

Right to work in the UK
Applicants who do not have a right to work in the UK for the duration of the training programme they are applying for will be eligible to apply. However, your application may only be considered if there are insufficient suitable applicants from the EEA.
