Quick Scroll Mersey Deanery results - what does this mean??? 05.08.07 (1 year ago) #1

I have recevied the following email from NRO - do you think I still have a chance or should I just forget about it? I applied Mersey Deanery and they have reduced the no posts recently to 9 down from 23!

-----------------
I am writing on behalf of the Mersey Deanery to confirm the result of your GP Training application.

I regret to advise you that the Selection Centre panel felt that you did not demonstrate suitability or eligibility for an ST3 GP training at this time and I am sorry to advise you that we will not be taking your application for an ST3 post further at this time. However, the panel felt that you are suitable for appointment to an ST2 post. We will therefore be able to consider your application for an ST2 programme should any suitable posts remain in any UK deanery in the clearing system. We will contact you towards the end of May if this is the case.

In the meantime could I ask you please NOT to contact either the NRO or the deanery at this very busy time. The Mersey Deanery will be not be able to give you FEEDBACK on your performance at selection centre until after the current recruitment episode and you will be informed of the process to obtain this in due course.

Yours sincerely,

Gai Evans

Hi Saliya

Did you apply for an ST3 post in Mersey? I am thinking of appealing against this their decision for the following reasons (although I am not sure whther I should wait for the outcome of the clearing first):
1) They have reduced the no of posts to 9 (originally 23) at a very late stage. 2) The clear advice I was given by the Mersey Deanery and RCGP was that I should apply for an ST 3 post - I simply followed their advice. They can't say now that I am not suitable.

How much chance do you think we have in the clearing system?

Best wishes..

hi yenal and saliya,
i had applied for ST2 in london/kss and received a similar mail yesterday saying that i have been kept on a reserve list like a waiting list and that i will be able to know only on/after 21st may if i have got a place or not.
so yenal, i feel u still have a chance but thats for ST2 not for ST3 after the national clearing like me and saliya.

Thank you Misalk - they say it could be anywhere in the UK - so hopefully there will be posts left. We will just have to wait and see I guess.

Good luck.

But also not all deaneries may have filled up their posts - there may not be candidates suitable for appointment in some deaneries. Oh well, we will just have to wait and expect too much to avoid further disappointment.
