I use Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1, Opera 9.26, Safari 3 & Firefox 3.0 Beta 4 together.
Based on my user experience, i consider Firefox as the best among these.

I will tell you the reasons for why is firefox the best browser!

REASON 1

HASSLE FREE & EASY DOWNLOAD.

Internet Explorer 7 download is full of hassles like OS validation tests, Where as firefox can be downloaded without any hassle.

And its a much smaller download (5.7MB) when compared to Internet Explorer's 15MB download. So this is the best download for Dialup users(As a 15MB download will take an hour in a dialup connection)

In a PC with 256MB RAM and 2MBPS Broadband,
Installation of firefox gets complete in just 2 minutes,
Where as it will take ~10 minutes and a system restart to fully install Internet explorer 7.

THE BEST TABBED BROWSING

Tabbed document interface is that it holds many different documents logically under the one window, instead of holding a large number of small child windows. Another is that sets of related documents can be grouped within each of several windows. Using tabs instead of new windows to display content creates a smaller memory footprint and therefore reduces the strain on the operating system. Tabbed web browsers often allow users to save their browsing session and return to it later.

I agree that IE & Opera also has Tabs, But they are more bulky and the Tab bar has the max space in Firefox.

More over if u accidentally close a firefox tab, u can always resore it through the "History" option.

A WIDE VARIETY OF FIREFOX ADD ONS!

No other browser offers such a vast archive of Add-ons! Mozilla are allowing every computer professional to make their own firefox add on! As a result firefox add ons has the biggest array of add ons! More over all these add ons are tested before uploading into the site. So there is no way that they could harm ur PC.

Internet explorer add ons are very less in number & most of the good add ons are not free!

Opera doesn't offer any add-ons. Instead of add ons they offer "widgets". And form my personal experience, most of the widgets are just fancy widgets like Analog clock or a game. And we have to open a widget to make it work. But an add on works along with the browser, no need to open it.

FULLY MODIFIABLE INTERFACE

Firefox has one of the coolest collection of skins! The skins add a lot of fun , colour and comfort to firefox use!

By comfort i mean there are compact skins which can really increase the viewing are in firefox thus u can see a lot more of the webpage.

IE 7 does not allow skinning!

OS(Operating System) COMPATIBILITY

Firefox 2.0.0.3 will run on Windows Vista/XP/2000/NT/9 8/ME
Mac OS X, Linux & Unix systems.

Internet explorer 7 will only run on Windows Vista & Windows XP.
It wont run on Windows 2000/9 8/NT or Mac OS 8/9/X

INBUILT SEARCH ENGINES

Even the older version of firefox had an inbuilt search engine, which can be used to access Google, Ya ho o, Wikipedia or any other as u want.

IE 6 does not have this option. IE 7 has been incorporated with similar search engines.

IN-BUILT DOWNLOAD MANAGER

I always wondered, "Why on earth is there no download manager even on IE 7 ?"

There should be a download manager, so that we can pause and resume downloads. And that where firefox scores!

ENHANCED SECURITY

Even though there are criticisms that the "Enhanced Safety" of firefox is due to its relatively new arrival(Compared to IE) Firefox has certain options that makes firefox more safe.

This is one such option, i.e Using a master password to secure all passwords and informations stored.

Firefox 2 Phishing Protection is more effective than the Microsoft Phishing Filter in Internet Explorer 7.

INBUILT SPELLING CHECKER

There is an inbuilt spelling checker in firefox.

This is very helpful in office use.

There is no spelling checker in IE
