i have heard that after giving AMC part 1 and 2, we have to complete 1 year Internship in order to apply for residency.
ok the point is.....
I have also heard that one can do internship in any Hospital after giving AMC Part1...
Now the Questions are...
1.. If we do that internship after Part 1 of 1 year duration, Do they accept that for application for Residency?
2.. How we can get internship after C1, as well as C2?
3.. What is the monthly pay of Internship?
If any1 has completed one year internship training under Australian Consultant ( graduated from Australia
) in home country outside Australia
.
Do they accept that internship and count that for registration?

brother!! you need to do some reasearch on internet.
well the annual pay is 32000-56000$ (depending on location).
but situation is far more tough than what u r expecting. It will be better if you get some clinical experiance here in pakistan, preferably fcps or atleast mrcgp. take ur time to decide. i am in karachi, where r u.

I am not quite sure what you mean by supervised internship. If you meant observship - yes - it is not paid but it is not real work. You are just coming to hospital to observe how doctors work and have a session with your educator at least once a week (if you are lucky to get one). It is in kind of "student setting" activity. If you get JMO position (junior medical officer/intern) you are definitely will be paid. The package depends on hospital's policy. In this case you will have "own" patients and a superviser(s) who will direct/control you. If somehow happened that you are not paid for your job - something wrong - read carefully the contract. What position/conditions you've got.
Myself is an example. During the interview I asked about the observship bcz I have just passed my MCQI (May) and did not feel like I was ready to start working. I wanted to refresh my practical procedures techniques/knowledge by having observship for 2-3 monthes before my Clinical exam. But they offer me the MO grade I position in ED straight up (the grade I is the next position after the JMO).
I do not know the reasons, I did not ask. Yes, I am graduated from Europe but I know many non Europeian graduated OTD who have been accepted and are happily working in hospitals without any "rasist issues".

Hi Alru,
How does one apply for observorship post after MCQ-1 ,i am in sydney, where are you?
Do you need loads of experience to apply for this post or do hospitals take fresh international medical graduates?
Regards
Ashrith

@ Sam 7881
Bro, at that time, when i wrote this post, istarted searching about all this stuff. but i have already completed all this task. I am in Lahore. I think U must be preparing for AMC.
Internship/supervised training is paid according to hospital policy, this is true. i know this is tough but not impossible. Always Work hard and believe in God. Nothing impossible for Him....

yes friends am sorry i was wrong
internship is paid ranging from 45 -53 per annum
but i read that amc graduates fall in the last priority of medical boards in hiring interns?
and that the intern positions r now very limited
even positions in tasmania r not enough for tasmanian graduates!!!
and they have to go to other territories!!
is there any amc graduate tell us about the situation there?

Hi Ashrith,
I am in Canberra. I did not apply for observship, I applied for JMO position. During intervew i asked for observship bcz of the reason I wrote previously. They gave me 5 scenarios to manage, looked at my papers (I've got a few Austr courses and some work experience in Russia
, Germany and Australia
) and offered the AMO1.
As far as I know you could get the observship before any exams ( I mean it is not required for you to pass any exams). Basically employment or any situations around (observship, training) directly depends on hospital needs and their resourses to provide studying programme for you. Usually they do not do it for IMG but who knows...it would be luck. The hospital can hire people after MCQ1 or asked you to clear up Clinical (if you looking for the full registration).
I know cases when IMG were employed in ED without any exams (even no English) but at the moment it is not a common practice especially in big cities. From my observations they are lucky people with the sounded communication skills and determination.
Cheers
