Step 2 CK Exam to include Audio and Video items from August

website on May 31st, 2007..
A small number of multiple-choice items with associated audio and/or video clips will be introduced into the USMLE
Step 2 CK Examination beginning in early August 2007. No more than 5 items with associated media clips will appear in a single examination. The 2007 USMLE
Orientation Materials include a small number of multiple-choice items that contain exhibits involving audio and/or video clips. Instructions for practicing with items with associated media clips on Step 1, Step 2 CK, and Step 3 are provided in the Tutorials for each Step examination in the orientation materials.
Items with associated media will be introduced in Step 1 and Step 3 during 2008. An announcement will be posted to the USMLE
website approximately 2 months before any items with associated media clips appear on Step 1 or Step 3 examinations. Additional information will be posted to the USMLE
website as it becomes available.

Yes infact in earlier years there were no questions in USMLE
like showing slides, X rays or CT scans these sorts of questions started few years back. I have heard that audio/video questions are easy.

But the question now is how can one practice these types of questions? I think It needs time for programmers to setup such materials on preparation sources.
And would that make USMLE
easier or more difficult?
Anyway,i guess audio/video questions would be more interristing than the traditional ones.

they also said that they would be implementing this audio video questions in the step 1 exam too... is that right??? if yes, when would these changes be implemented???

superdoc, kindly read the announcement carefully you'll find it contains answers to both your questions. They've stated the max number of such questions is 5. They've also stated a tentative schedule for such questions in step 1 and step 3. They will post an announcement around 2 months before they do so.

they have provided some vdoz in the 2007 USMLE
cd...
u can expect something like listening to murmurs, breath sounds etc...
