just 2 hrs before took visa interview they didnt issued a visa...said that "your name is under suspicious list...things have to be cleared before we can issue you a visa and it may take months"....its very depressing for me have to cancel my cs exams had been already preparing for this exam...passed step 1 with 96 and step 2 with 95...after a long and hard period of studies I am having this unexpected problem which can ruin my carrier.....now really dont know what to do...

Man my dad had similar experience. The visa was finally issued about 5-6 months. This is a problem with common names. If u have a unique name, there wont be a problem. Also if a name is blacklisted, the problem is there.
The thing is that ur name along with ur docs and fingerprints go to State Deptt in USA and they they take months and months. I am sure u will finally get the visa but the problem is that it will be lot late, then u need to give CS. btw if u dont mind whats ur last name.
I hate the sort of discrimination US embassy is doing. Why cant they do it fast, may be a week or 2?

Yes I agree with the above poster google singh

Ihad the similar problem ! but fourtunately it was noty here in India I applied my visa in Uk and they said that there atleast 5 people with the same name as me on the list (may blacklist?!)

It took then 20 days to confirm my data from US and yes I got the Visa at that time

I hope it also turn out to be same for you but obviously it will take more time in India due to huge volume od applicants

best ofluck!!

Yea and may be they give priority to UK applicants.
4-5 months is the standard time that i have found out on net for indians. Maybe if u can ask US consulate to hasten ur verification as u have an exam
