Besy you read guyton 1st so you concepts will be cleared.
then to revise in hurry or in viva you can use VijyaJoshi. icon_smile.gif

SEmbo is good for few topics only..like anemia and some topics in GIT.

Chaudhari has good content but book will make you sleep..not attractive..but CVS is good as well as GeneraL PNS is also good.

mightchillout

well....if u want to have a crammer for exams the sebulingam is very "user friendly"....

havnt read jain.....but chaudhari is quite ok....has some okay concepts as well.....seniors say its kinda "guyton+jain" remix.......

hope dat answers ur query:)

medicilina

THNX VERY MUCH MIGHTCHILLOUT.
ESPECIALLY 4 LETTING ME KNOW THAT CHAUDHARI IS REMIX OF GUYTON+ JAIN.
EVEN MY FRIEND CUM SENIOR (FROM NAIR) TOLD ME THAT" BLOOD" IS GOOD IN CHAUDHARI.
BUT NOW I HAVE GUYTON & GANONG AND I M DROPING OUT SEMBULINGAM FROM MY MIND.
AND I HAVE CHAUDHARI AND A.K. JAIN.
AND I WANT SOMEONE (SENIOR) WHO HAS GONE THRO : CHAUDHARI,SEMBULINGAM & A.K.JAIN:TO ANSWER MY QUESTION!
    icon_question.gif
AFTER GOING THRO ALL THE POSTS IN 1ST M.B.B.S. FORUM I CAME TO KNOW THAT - NOW IT IS WORLD FAMOUS THAT THERE R LOT OF ERRORS IN SEMBULINGAM.
BUT STILL IT IS WIDELY USED ESPECIALLYIN MAHARASTRA!
    I DONNO WHY?
MAY BE I SHOULD POST THIS IN MAHARASTRA FORUM?
BUT STILL I FELT IT IS CON CERNED WITH 1ST M.B.B.S. , SO I POSTED IT HERE. icon_biggrin.gif

OH! PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
IS THERE ANY ONE TO ANSWER ME. PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

All da best.

Aman007

wud suggest to go for a k jain.....my nerd pals say day dat refer guyton and ganong and prepare a note u get ak jain

gkgenius

Read Guyton first. Then read ganong. only CVS from berne and levy(only book u need for cvs, highly recommended) . Read cellular physio FROM BORON(GET THE PORTION XEROXED,usefull for entrances and usmle) . bEFORE XAMS VD JOSHI. aVOID SEMBU at all cost.it is absolutely rubbish.

Aim USMLE Step 1

I followed Jain...people say Jain is basically indian edition of ganong..review of medical physiology.....So you get option of Simple Text

Chaudhary is extremely good for understanding nervous system...JAIN mostly is good for writing answers.....Sembu has lot of mistakes in cns but it comes handy in case of topics like endocrine ....gd tables..n diag

(I found out lot of mistakes and , Sembu has easier language and is easy to retain(Crammable as mightchillout pointed)...

but it's good to give another hour or so and try to understand concept from chaudhary or jain ...So just don't cram...it's gonna come again in patho pharma medicine.....(looking forward for it...hehehe)

I personally followed Jain most of time as overall it is enough for covering major idea of topic.....when supplemented with foreign author like guyton or ganong...Make your Own notes....you'll understand better..

4 CNS Chaudhary is must.....I would recommend a Book

"HUMAN PHYSIOLOGY IN A NUTSHELL"......small book...people dont have much idea about his book.....but for board exams i suppose this book is a must have....I loved it..... icon_lol.gif..

Just Advice...________________________
Diffrent People have diffrent strokes...tk advice frm seniors....go 2 library n discover urself....

medicilina ..hope it helps as far indian authors r concerned....
just read the thread so delay was inevitable...
