SHOULD 1ST M.B.B.S. REFER BOOKS OF DIFFERENT AUTHORS FOR Anatomy
, BIOCHEM, PHYSIO; WHILE KEEPING IN VIEW DIFFERENT EXAMES LIKE AIIMS
aipge & STATE PG -CET? IF SO PLZ RECOMED RESPECTIVE BOOKS FOR RESPECTIVE SUBJECTS?

Supeashdoc's help desk thread explains everything in detail in an MBBS point of view.
I will write about the whole MBBS,not just 1st yr.
In an entrance point of view,the books are,
Anatomy
- BDC (more than enough)
Physio - Ganong (PG entrance bible)
Biochem - Lippincott , Harper is also good.
Micro - Ananthanarayan (more than enough) extra reading from some topics in Harrsion.
Patho - Robbins Robbins all the way ( Must )
Pharmac - Tripathi is good.
PSM
- Park (must)
ENT
- Dhingra (more than enough)
Opthal - kanski (good one)
Medicine - Harrison (no other choice)
Surgery - Bailey (not in entrance, but for final year exams, examiners are very fond of bailey)
O & G - Dutta & Shaw
Pediatrics - Nelson, Ghai is also okay.
Skin - Behl (more than enough)
Anaesthesia
- Lee
Radiodiagnosis - Hmm i didnt refer a book for this.
Psychiatry
- Ahuja is good. If u are aiming for getting in NIMHANS
, go for Kaplan.

Yes, Bcoz the question paper for AIPGE
& AIIMS
are set by the same people.

THNX FOR IT . WAT U SAID PAL,'' the question paper for AIPGE
& AIIMS
are set by the same people'' WON'T STAY THE SAME . THE SITUATION MAY CHANGE WHEN WE 1ST MBBS STUDS WILL BE GIVING PG ENTERANCE AT OUR TIME.PZL DON'T SAY THAT SO THINK AT THAT TIME. JUST TRING TO GET SOME CONCLUSION ACTUALLY MANY FRESHERS FELL THE SAME QUESTION ABOUT AIIMS

AIIMS
, NewDelhi conducts both AIPGE
& AIIMS
exams. So naturally both of them will have the same type of questions. Since last 14 years AIIMS
questions have always been repeated in AIPGE
. Ashish Gupta (AIIMS
standard guide) & Mudit Khanna (AIPGE
standard guide) have used almost same books as reference for last 14 years. But i don't know what will be the books of reference after 5/6 years, but one thing is certain. It will be the AIIMS
people who will be conducting the AIPGE
exam after 5 years. As its not possible to build up a similar institute & hand over the responsibility in 5 years.
Some curious trends are arising in various state entrances as in Tamil Nadu Pre Medical scenario where there are no entrances now! Just theory marks counts!
