This was a question in IAMS FTS on 29/07/07:

Q. Sensitivity of screening test is 94%. The prevalance of diseases in community is 5%. What percentage of persons in the community who have +ve screening test result will have the disease?

a. 28%

b. 33%

c. 48%

d. 67%

The question means to ask the Positive Predictive Value. As far as I know, the specificity value of the test is also required to calculate the PPV. Is the question wrong? If it is not then is there any way the PPV can be calculated with only Sensitivity and Prevalance values available?
