hi all , i need some info badly and quick . I have applied for a master in surgery program at the university of malaya . They have replied and said that i'll need to sit for an entrance exam in january 2008 . But i don't have any idea on how the exam is ? the topics covered , the duration , the format ( mcq or written ) nothing !!! can anyone help and let me know what i'm getting into ??? thanks .

well there was this malaysian fair for further studies and i met the representative . he told me how to apply . ie , i went on the website : www(dot)um(dot)edu(dot)my . i got the application forms from the post graduate section . filled them , got the referral forms , got the bank papers , the application fee of $ 50 . xeroxed the whole of my passport ( don't ask me why they told me so ) sent all of it to malaysia . and at the end of all this got a letter after ages that i'll be considered for next year . that too if i'm short listed after an exam , and a 6-8 week observership .

the only trouble is that i don't know what to expect for this exam ...

I finished Ug in Aug 2004.
Since then i am working as a duty doctor.
Now im seriously thinking to join PG. i also went thru the website. I am still confused if it is worth a try.

So what do u do.
By the way i will be more comfortable to address you by name.
so let me know ur name also.

Well i downloaded the forms from their website :

and filled them and sent them with $50 . That was in february . A few months later , i got a reply telling me that i'll be considered for the next year batch , that too after an entrance exam and 4 - 6 weeks of observership .

we are now in November . I've still not been contacted since and i have no idea whatsoever for the exam

hi i am dr khan , i am presently doing my clinical attachment in surgery in USM in malaysis....in june 2008 after my assessment ,if selected will start my masters for 4 years,....every thing here is excellent but the only thing is that the PG is not recognised in india.......so i dont know weather we can practice in india if we were too come back.
