Many people are unaware that when they delete a file, the file is not actually removed from their hard disk. Instead, Windows just marks the file as being deleted, and treats it as free space, ready to be written over. For this reason, the trick to regaining these deleted files is to restore them before Windows writes over them again. Therefore, it is very possible to be able to restore files that were deleted anywhere from a few minutes ago to a few days ago. Obviously, files deleted more recently are much more probable to be recoverable. If you realize that you accidentally deleted files that you need, it is very important to stop using your computer extensively until they are recovered, because any hard drive action could potentially overwrite the file.
Now you should understand how this works. Most of the software required to recover the files back are shareware. Today I found a FREEWARE utility that does the same with a much simpler graphical user interface.
Its called...

RECUVA - FILE RECOVERY
...

Recuva (pronounced "recover") is a freeware Windows utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer. This includes files emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players. It will even bring back files that have been deleted by bugs, crashes and viruses!
JUST GOOGLE WITH THE KEYWORD "Recuva" TO GET THE FREEWARE.
YOU CAN EASILY RESTORE FILES WHICH SHOW "State: Excellent, Comment: No overwritten clusters detected"

And please note: Its very easy to restore data from drives which you use less often. For example, As i am not a music fan, i use my G(songs) drive less often, coz of that i was able to restore some mp3 i deleted from my G drive 1 month back!
On the contrary, i was not even able to restore a file i deleted 1 day back from my D drive, as i delete more than a dozen files a day in my desktop.
Tip: Use the "Find" box to find specific files, You can just enter .mp3 or .jpg to narrow down your search to find specific files.

Then the chance of file recovery becomes more remote.
One more point i want to stress is, CHANCES OF FILE RECOVERY FROM A SYSTEM DRIVE IS VERY LOW. Why bcoz hundreds of temporary internet files will be generated every day in a system drive & they will be removed regularly with or without our knowledge.

Well thats very difficult, but not impossible.(nothing is Impossible in this virtual world)
When a files is deleted, windows just marks the file as being deleted, and treats it as free space, ready to be written over. So the chance of recovery depends on the rate at which new files are produced and deleted in that drive. In a system drive the temporary internet files are produced in mass numbers.( why bcoz when we open a webpage, our pc saves all the images & data in that webpage as temporary internet files)
And an application is usually installed in the system drive. And more over when we uninstall an application the info about the application will be removed from the registry. So recovering an uninstalled application is very difficult.
The actual use of this application is in LESS USED DRIVES(Non system drive). It can easily bring back deleted mp3's or video files IF they are deleted from less used drives.
