influenza is considered safe ..........it can be avoided in first trimester but administration of influenza has not shown any adverse effects.

polio and yellow fever are to be administered with special consideration.

and rubella is an absolute contraindication

excerpts from"Immunization during pregnancy. ACOG technical [bleep] number 160--October 1991."follows

Combined tetanus and diphtheria toxoids are the only immunobiologic agents routinely indicated for susceptible pregnant women. Other vaccines may be indicated for pregnant women under special circumstances. Measles, mumps, and rubella single-antigen vaccines, as well as the combined vaccine, are contraindicated in pregnancy but should ideally be given preconceptionally or postpartum.

the vaccines contraindicated in pregnancy are .....
1.mumps
2.measles
3 rubella
4.varicella zoster
5.yellow fever( can be given in high risk only)
for other vaccines recommendatiosn are as follows...
--- typhoid- risks vs benifits
---polio opv- no longer recommended
ipv contraindicated(mentioned in harrisons)
---influenza- after 1st trimester
---rabies - same as non pregnant
---hepatitis A and hepatitis B-- same as non pregnant
---japanese encephaltis- weigh risk vs benifits
---pneumococcal- same as non pregnat
---meningococcal-its is not contraindicated i pregnancy.studies of vaccinatio during ppregnancy have not documentedadverse effects among either women or neonates
---hemophilus-same as non pregnant
---cholera-risk vs benifits
---tetanus-same as non pregnant
---diphtheria-same as non pregnant
