Share Step2CS experience.

Hy everybody, could you tell me , there is a person who pass Step 2CS , in more than 1 center . I don<t know , what center to choose. I understood from others , in Philadelphia , always the patients talked an english ghetto . This make me asked myself , is not more easiest in Chicago , or Atlanta?My concern is the english talked by these patients . I come from Montreal ,and I am pretty sure I will have understanding problems . Could anyone who passed this exam , in more than 1 center , share with me , his/her experience .

My 2 cents.. These things make a little difference apart from psychological effects. The SPs are trained professionals and the system is made such that these variations have minimal impact on CS outcome. For example there is no consideration to whether you had to ask a Q twice or thrice to make the patient understand. I know people with poor Engligh, pass at Philly. And i've met American grads who avoid Houston due to the thick southern accent of its SPs. My take is that take whatever center suits you and practice well for CS, its an easy exam to pass.

I passed it in Philii.
I didnt face much problem although I am not at all used to american accent
and yes SP are too professional and Ghetto used should be minimal in any case . Most of mine SP were AfroCarribean , many of my friends find it difficult to get through their accent in ususal conversation outside exam but In exam there was no issue
So all in all can go for any centre and I dont know what you mean when you ask passed CSA in one then more Centre .I mean why would somebody pass it two times

hi,
i took my cs at LA & i passed....
i had no difficulty whatsoever in understanding the "accent"... of the SP's
i dont really really know about other places in USA but if you are in doubt you can very well go for LA...

I TOOK THE EXAM AT THE CHICAGO CENTRE.IT WAS EASY but i made some mistakes in the first assigned cases as i took more time in getting the history and doing examination ,so i could not do the closing in these cases. I just made this easy exam difficult for myself.This is my mistake only .I think that i am failing this exam .so i am sad about it.
any advice from anyone is welome.

Dont worry job... it does happen... believe me many ppl have the same feelin till the results are announced & they are thro...
if you've done all your other cases well then i dont see any reason for you to fail in it....coz your overall performance is judged & not your performance in any singl case....
If you have done well in rest al cases i'm sure you are thro!!!

May your words come true ! I would be the happiest man on earth if i pass the exam,brother.
it is not a single case ,these are about 3-4 cases,brother.
I am myself responsible for all these problems.
May God(Allah) pass me!

I know ppl who felt that they have not done their best in almost 5 cases & still have passed!!
Actually , a lot depends on how critical you are about yourself... Dont be so tuff on yourself.. just sit back for a while, relax & analyse all your positive points about the cases in which you think you havent done well... then maybe you'll realise that you havent done that badly after all !!
Allah ke ghar mein Der hai Andher Nahi...
Allah will answer all your prayers brother...dont worry have faith in HIM..

I completely agree with Jedai because i was one of those people. I prepared for CS only for 4 days, didn't practice a single case. So in my first case before i could even ask the patient to lie down for PE my time was over. I couldn't complete my exam in 2 other cases too.
Actually as Jedai said, it depends on how critical are you of yourself and how much you expect from yourself. I was scared like hell that i'd fail, but i did pass. CS is a exam of just being confident and good communication skills and bedside manners. People who don't understand that prepare for weeks and weeks and still fail.
So don't worry and relax. Good luck for the results.
