Quick Scroll Do you now where in the world for Iranians doctors? 11.03.07 (1 year ago) #1

10 years ago, I was desperate to find some one (a persian doc) who had seen different countries to tell me where was the best for a persian physician (doc) to go and start a residency and make a career and live like an honest human. But I could not find any body or the views were contradictory. Because non of them had an experience from other countries.

I live in the UK and this is my view:
As far as I am aware, Arab countries need doctors who hold American board qualification or its equivalants, ie: Uk MRCP or German facharts. So it does not seem possible for iranians to be employed in those countried unless some inter-governmental agreements has been arranged (that I do not know) which give some iranian doctors right to work only in their state health departments. if you have any news let me know.
As an expatriot iranian who has the experience of living and working as scientist physician in the UK (England), it seems at least to me, for Iranian docs Canada is the best at the moment. why? most iranian docs know english not other languages (if you are keen to start learning a new language, france is the best at the moment for Iranians). So this limits their choice to USA, Canada , UK, south africa, Australia and NewZealand. USA is difficault for its visa. UK is useless because not only for their visa but their system also is in a big revolution that they themselves are immigrating to Australia and do not know when they can come back to the UK!!!!. Australia and New Zealand have British medical system that is completely different from ours (text books, approaches, legal litigations, not developed iranian community to prevent docs become deppressed and home sick). Canada is a bit un known to us but at least getting its immigration is easier and its system is more familiar to us, toronto has become tehranto due to big Iranian community (most of them are not persian freind ly but some might help to settle down sooner, you can go to USA later when you get your citizenship (easier than other countries). in my view if Canada is not possible for someone for any reason, then Australia might be an option. but experiences of some Iranians who went there shows they had so many problem there who were obliged to go back to Iran while I have not heard any Iranian doc to go from Canada back to Iran (at least they can work in jobs other than medicine till they pass they exams and get their qualifications. what ever you want to do, do it quickly, do not waste your time.

I hope this can be of any help to my dear compatriots in Iran to make a wise decision

Regards
