Quick Scroll motivation letter for research 11.22.07 (10 months ago) #1

Hi!
Actually I need some help about the motivation letter ...
what I should I write in it? in fact, I'm so interested in research and so .. but saying that doesn't seem to convince anybody!!! don't know what kind of answers do they want!!
are there anyother things to present when I apply for a research position?

Dear a7mad

Generally response depends on how eligible are you for the given position....the motivation letter will be a kind of telling the justification, that you are matching to the requirements asked for the position....as such if somebody does not have the necessary skills/experience/qualification in the first place, its very difficult to be considered/shortlisted....merely expressing interest is not enough.....Ideally your first consideration before applying should be......am I adequately eligible for the given position (Might be the case that the position is bit higher than your level at present)..... if yes, then describe briefly your skills pertinent to research (e.g. data collection, processing, protocol development etc), training or course undertaken if any, or a relevant research work/assigment conducted by you, may be during med school, relevant diploma/qualification if any.....make the letter look to the point, crisp...be objective rather than subjective.

All the best...

Also include why you want to do research and in what way and which field, and how it will be beneficial. Ofcourse involve your credentials, your experience, but dont make it too narcisstic.
Plus explain why you took up that particular topic and the resources you have in hand, and what you may have to procure etc. etc. Make it like a business proposition, but dont commercialise it. Present just facts, and present reachable aims, dont make too many high handed claims. ( if you are writing for a research proposition )
