WELL THIS ONES A TRICKY QUESTION.THE MOST COMMON SITE HAS NOT AS SUCH MENTIONED ANYWHERE BUT HERES THE INFORMATION I FOUND.....
HARRISON 15TH EDITION Pg 1978 says......the systemic amyloidosis offers a choice of biopsy sites: abdominal fat aspirates or renal or ractal
biopsy r often performed.......

robbins basis pg 286 6th edition says....most common sites biopsied are kidney, when renal manifestations are present ,or rectal or gingival tissues in patients suspected of sys. amyl.EXAMINATION OF ABDOMINAL FAT ASPIRATE STAINED WTH CONGO RED IS EXTREMELY USEFUL TECHNIQUE FOR DX. OF SYS. AMYLOIDOSIS...

CMDT 2004 Pg 769.....in pt wth sys. dis. rectal or gingival biopsies show a sensitivity of abt 80%, bone marrow biopsy abt 50% and abdominal fat aspirate between 70 and 80%.THE LATTER IS SIMPLE AND RELIABLE METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING SYSTEMIC AMYLOIDOSIS.......

AFTER GOING THRUOGH THE ABOVE INFORMATION I THINK I WILL CERTAINLY MARK ABDOMINAL FAT PAD........

ANY OTHER OPINIONS?????????????
