hi i am planning to join kaplan's in india for step1 and 2ck just because the guy at kaplan's told me that they help in finding observership/externships.notes are no problem as i can purchase them from my seniors or from the grey market..at kaplan's they have promised a 10% discount on externships.but to avail of this assistance have i to join kaplan in us for cs also or if i join for step1 & 2ck in india it will be applicable icon_rolleyes.gif
a word of caution .i read on the net that these guys by name of fmgamerica.are frauds.they promise observership/externship against a heavy amount.is it true? should one employ such agents in the us?has any1 gone through any such experience?

in the world of such frauds does kaplan really help or is it just a marketing gimmick.
could one of my respected seniors who had joined kaplan's or had contacted such websites please help this damsel in distress

I doubt it ,but i am not sure......
if u r willing to pay heavy amount u can arrange externship as such too just with help of few contacts, level of difficulty lies same for anyone.

Doublecheck ur resources , cant stamp one discrete yes or no ...

What good is the 10% discount if you have already spent thousands of dollars paying Kaplan for their courses, specially if it wasn't past of your original preparation plan.

I'd first try for the free O'ships at Universities and other hospitals if i can plan in advance. Such externships can be booked even on short notice of a couple of months without the help of Kaplan. Its getting O'ships at Universities and good community programs that is difficult.

dear ashb and siyaa had any of you joined kaplan's in india or in us?what is your advice to your junior?i would be highly obliged if you could tell me whether a residency in Obs and gyn is possible for a img?is it as difficult as getting into surgery?is research mandatory for the above program?how many months research is enough?or else should i complete a residency in FM and then try for a fellowship in Obs and gyn.which route is easier- getting a residency easier or a fellowship in ob-gy after FM?awaiting your reply
