hi chewinggum...jst wud like to say tht im in the same boat as u...i was granted full registration abt 2 weeks back ..after which i saw an ad in the nhs website for a locum f1 job near where i stay and i applied....and by some miracle i got shortlisted and was called for an interview on monday....but havent heard from them till now so am qute sure i havent got the job....but id jst like to say ....though its very frustrating, jst keep knocking on all possible doors till one opens up....we can apply for Locum f1s (since i was shortlisted i think we're eligible for it) and definitely f2.....im trying for attachments as well but with nu luck.......

Hi ani24, could you tell us about interview, what did they ask you? well I am just thinking, in F1 and if you have (surely) experience for this post, what would be the reason not to get one.

hii..
good luck ani...
@chewingum-
Doing an attachment is important but doesnt matter how long...I did for 2 months part-time attachment n got a job in a another hospi while doing tht..
while my frnd has been doing 1 since 1.5 years...[yesss years] n hasnt even got a shortlisting...
so there r many factors : the timing of applying jobs [ I appled during the christmas hols n beleive me i got 3 interviews n i attended 2 n got both the offers....i m talking abt sumthing recently...]
I m not trying to say things r soo nice n easy....they r tuff ..i was geographically restricted n hence waited till the hospis ard me had vacancies..n my wait was long enuf..
n yes in my interview they asked me wat r my career plans n how this job will fit in my plans....??
lets say ur aapplying for FY2 ...answer accordingly.
Make a very confident answer...dont byheart ny book answers..u shud appear genuine...
Pls dont ask me wat i answered I will wait to hear ur answers and then give my answer...so reply wat u think u wud answer...
I know now after reading this most will wonder abt my visa status....
I m on a dependant work visa.
so dont be bothered abt the visa n things thts the med staffing who sees it ......the consultant who interviews u wants sum1 safe , confident. good knowledge base, genuine, n presentable.....[ this is not wat i think I was told by a consultant ... ]
good luck every1 n pray for me as well...

thanx koolsal for the information.....well with regards to my interview...they asked me clinical scenario(ecg),tell me a little abt urself, proudest moment in ur career, wht do u know abt the nhs(tht q really threw me off)....and they asked me one scenario wherein some1 senior wud ask u to perform a procedure(eg.cannulation, catheterization) but u think its inappropriate ,wht wud u do?...wud u go ahead with it?..i said no,id like to consult with my senior or colleague(i meant a 3rd party)...but mayeb the took it as ...consult with teh same person who asked me to do so..God knows..
anyways like koolsal said i was lucky to get shorlisted and i take it as a learning experience.....and now i know where i made mistakes or how i cud have better answered it...so like my sis in law and hubsand says it all adds up to better ur chances the next time arnd u try.....God will def show us all the path we're meant to go on....
By the way koolsal cud u please let me know how u go abt searching for clinical attachments?...a guidline wud be really helpful..thanx a lot..again all the best to every1
