There is built in option in Windows to Change the way a folder looks.

icon_arrow.gif Right Click on a Folder

icon_arrow.gif Select "Properties"



icon_arrow.gif Go to the "Customize" tab



icon_arrow.gif Click on "Change Icon" and press "Ok"

icon_arrow.gif Select the new icon from the list of icons and press "Ok"
You can also use the "Browse" option if you happen to have any new icon sets in your PC.



icon_arrow.gif Finally click

That will change the icon of the folder to the new ones.

You can also use the Free Software called "Icon Tweaker"

Creating an icon from a picture requires expertise in Adobe Photoshop or other similar applications.
You can find thousands of free icons in net, Just search in google with the keyword "free icons".
