Hi,
I generally do oral presentations. And co-incidentally, today i asked someone about poster presentation.
I think it depends upon the type of conferences, some may allow various posters for a single presentation, some may allow only one.
There is a specific size to making the poster. I will try to find out more about poster presentation, keep visiting this thread.
People generally prefer oral presentation over poster presentation. but poster presentation has its appeal.

Hi,
the size of the poster is often specified by the organisers of the conference. wheter u want to put up on a single sheet or multiple depends on u.
I prefer single sheet as it becomes easier to handle. I often make my posters on a single powerpoint slide with the pageset up according to the guidlines of the organisers. then u can arrange the material using textboxes dividing the page either as vertical half or as a single page.
This sheet can be printed directly. also the material I use for paper is photomatt with lamination on the printed side, looks neat and doesnt get spoilt.
There are other materials available as well like glossy paper....the other I forget the name.(ask the printer to show u a sample)
Also if done with a professional he will prepare the entire poster on coreldraw and then print.
hope at least some aspects have been clarified......
all the best!
