Hi all,
i got my b1/b2 visa single entry today.valid till may 19.now it is written as annotation to take USMLE step2 exam on April 2008 in Phil.I have had changed my date for may 7 in LA.Do I strictly have to follow the annotation or can I take it In LA.How do I go about this........Please advice icon_rolleyes.gif

Forgive my ignorance but i don't understand what annotation are you talking about? If you mean, the annotation that the VO might have put, I don't ythink that would matter at all. You can certainly change the date as per your needs within your allowed period of Stay in US. Changing the date is legally allowed by ECFMG and if ever you are asked later the reasons for the same, you can easily justify it.

Yup Ash B,
The annotation which the VO wrote on my visa is what I meant.He wrote visa for step2 USMLE April 08 Philadelphia.
Before receiving the visa i.e.yesterday,I changed the testing centre and date to May 7 LA.Can I fly directly into LA on May3 or something and tell them at the entry port I changed the date n venue due to some personal reasons etc. Is this possible?What do ya say.
I apologise for not being clearer earlier and my ignorance rather.

Certainly. You can tell them that or you didn't find yourself prepared enough to take the exam in April, so you postponed. BTW 99.99% they won't ask you this at the port of entry.
