Quick Scroll Prep partner for NZREX Aug 2008 02.24.08 (5 months ago) #1

Dear Friends,

I want to prep for NZREX and take it in Aug 2008. I am in Los Angeles, USA now. I would like to use skype or other internet telephone devices to prep together. I have read all I could about this exam from the official websites. It seems like a tricky exam..only 50 % pass icon_exclaim.gif

I think I should prep very hard. Does anyone know of any coaching centers?
3750 $ is a Huge investment to make ....esp as the job scenario is not very rosy.

Please e mail me/reply to this post if you are interested.
In case you are choosy about your study partner....please be aware that I am an Indian guy in my 30's. I have no problems studying with anybody who is serious about their preparation.

Thanks
Good luck

Thank you, I was not expecting a reply so soon.

Whats the scene there in NZ? Is there a back log of doctors who have passed NZREX? Do people get jobs or do they take a long time to get it?

My interest is to get into some post graduation course. I tried for my residency in US but I managed only a few interviews. This is my second attempt to match in the US and I see no reason to try a third time. My work gets over by June and so does my visa. I need to make some alternative plans. I wonder if NZ would have opportunities for me.

What do you think? I am just an MBBS graduate from India? Do I have a chance? My preliminary investigation led me to believe that I should give it a shot.

What is your situation? Where are you based? How far in your prep are you? If you think we should get together and study, How do I send you my contact details without violating forum rules?

How can one prepare for NZREX. I downloaded the suggested book list from the website. But is there any coaching for this exam on the lines of USMLE step 2 CS exam by kaplan etc. I feel we need to do a lot of mock exams.....one main difference from USMLE CS exam is that this exam looks for precise dosage/medication ....at least for the emergency cases.

Well loads enough for now

Keep in touch and good luck

WR

White rabbit you are new here I guess, dude you would get used to this soon. People reply to yr questions or would meet online or talk on the phone maybe once or twice, but after that they vanish into thin air saying they are busy with their exams. And you would be wondering "Hey didnt we say we are preparing for the exams together and what do you mean by busy with my preparation when we said we will study together.
I have gone through this number of times and so would you. Welcome to the world of NZREX!!!!!!!!!

Satty,
its quiete discouraging although ! U cant judge things based on ur experiences .We all are here to struggle & make our mark in our professions .That needs lots of encouragement , guidance & support . I always had good experiences on forum in terms of gaining support & i have always ignored the bad ones becoz am positive & focused & have accepted the truth that GOOD & BAD stuffs lies in our own eyes, its how u look at them & perceive them as.
Could u pls tell me that despite of u agreed to study together with me online, why havent i received any answers for the qs i have had sent u 2 weeks back ??????
cheers !
