Quick Scroll Improved Bookmark Management 02.26.08 (5 months ago) #2

Another improvement in Firefox 3 is the excellent management of bookmarks.
There is a "Tag" facility which can be used to search the bookmarks.
The default Bookmarks Backup facility is also remarkable.

Firefox 3 Beta 3 Release Notes

Firefox 3 Beta 3 is a developer preview release of Mozilla's next generation Firefox browser and is being made available for testing purposes only.

These beta releases are targeted to Web developers and our testing community to gain FEEDBACK before advancing to the next stage in the release process. The final version of Firefox 3 will be released when we qualify the product as fully ready for our users. Users of the latest released version of Firefox should not expect their add-ons to work properly with this beta.

Quick Scroll update 03.02.08 (4 months ago) #4

I have been using the Beta 3 version since last week.
Let me mention about some improvements i noticed.

The Add-On management have improved considerably.
Now we dont need to go to the mozilla website to get the add ons,
everything can be done from the Add-On box itself.

Most of the extensions are compatible with this version.
The Bookmarking has improved remarkably, the bookmarks
are backed up automatically every day by the browser!
We can add Tags and organise bookmarks very easily.

As per me i always wait till the final release of FF as all add-ons are not yet compatible with beta versions.
But FF3 will be very much improved than 2.

Thats not entirely correct. Many of the popular Add-ons are compatible with Firefox 3 Beta 3. (eg: No Script, Download Status Bar, Flagfox, Secure log in, Speed Dial, WOT, Customize Google, Grease monkey so n so.. lots of them)
Even the BBCode Xtra (the add-on helpful in RxPG) is compatible with Firefox 3 Beta 4.

I agree with that, Firefox 3 is a lot improved that FF 2.
One of the interesting feature is that it automatically signs me out of webpages when i close the browser.
So i dont need to worry that i will accidentally leave my RxPG account open.
The bookmarking facility has improved like anything!
The bookmarks are automatically backed up every day by the browser.
(That makes fox marks a less necessary add on)
