Hi,
I got full reg in Feb 08. Though I don't have a work permit and cannot work in UK in the present set up, I applied for reg just to save my PLAB .
I just want to know that is it necessary to renew reg every year before it expires or can it be renewed after some gap.

Following registration you are required to pay an annual fee to retain your name on the GMC’s Register of medical practitioners

If we do not receive your payment for your annual retention fee, we may erase your name from the medical Register. If your name is not on the Register, you will not be allowed to practise as a registered medical practitioner.

I think you just have to pay the fees of certain pounds, I was told that in the GMc office, You even donot require a GCs certificat every year fro Now.

Hi Friends,

I have cleared my PLAB 2 in 2005,,, so to keep it alive,, I have to have GMC registration now ,,
I have seen GMC website but not clear about the procedure,
Please give me more details about the procedure for GMC Registration from India,,,

After having GMC Registration is it possible to work in other European countries like Norway,Finland etc,,,

I think after registration if you dont pay for few years they will remove the name from registrar but once you pay restoration fee your name is again going to be put in Registrar,,,

please someone,, put more details on these things,,,,

Dear bjps,
first of all you need to log on to MY GMC by the password and pin given to you by GMC after you paased your PLAB 1.
if you have completed your internship back home then apply for full registration if not then provisional registration.
you must have a valid good standing certificate from the registration authority of your country.
fill out the online registration form.......pay the fee...... the GMC will then send you an email to send your documents...original internship certs, CGS....
within 10 working days GMC will send you confirmation that you are registered and shortly after wards the certificates of registration plus all your original internship letter/certificates will be sent back to you.
