I am doin md med in stanley mc chennai. I did ug frm trivandrum.
So all I can do is compare both states.
Academics in TamilNadu
medical colleges are a bit less compared to kerala.
Case loads and varieties are similar.
As a general trend even though case load may be more, work load is less compared to kerala. (Less number of duties per week).
Specialities are strong and better and quite helpful in TamilNadu
than in kerala.
Stipend in kerala is around 10k... In tamil nadu around 8k
Bond in kerala--- already implemented strict 1yr posting in the medical college chosen after completion of pg.
Bond in tamil nadu wud be rural, but still not sure abt terms since one batch diploma students were sent for rural while the current exam goin batch is free of rurals.
Social life will be better in TamilNadu
for outsiders esp northies rather than in kerala.(city life, language).
Climate and sightseeing options uncomparably better in kerala.
The pass percentage is far more in tamil nadu than in kerala for any subject.
Paper presentations and the sort more easy in tamil ndau colleges where professors will help you report and present any case... Not that usual in kerala.
Hope this sums most of em.
According to my friends fron karnataka... TamilNadu
and kerala colleges are far better than those in karnataka... only BMC is somewhat ok.
Order of preference in tamil ndau generally will be
JIPMER
, MMC, SMC, Madurai MC, KMC and rest
Order of preference in kerala will be
TMC, Calicut MC, Kottayam MC and rest
