Hey guys, so now its confirmed that this year, we can give options only for courses, and not for colleges...

Quote:
the prospectus says-- "Candidates can give option only for the Courses and not for the colleges. Candidates can opt only those subjects that are earmarked under the category in which he/she seeks admission. He/She may choose any seat available at the point of allotment and also
opt to exercise ‘Options’ to seats that were not vacant at that point of time. If the candidate finds that there are no vacancies in any of the subject(s) of his/her choice at that point of time, he/she may opt to exercise ‘Options only’ to be considered for the arising vacancies. If a candidate gets selected for the first option he/she will not be considered for the other options. If a candidate gets selected for his/her lower options he/she will be considered for the higher options as per rank, if vacancy arises, on or before the last CAP, in that particular subject provided he/she has joined and is continuing studies in the course of his/her lower option. Options once furnished during the counseling will be final.

there will be no options for colleges. which means u will have to settle for a college that was not your choice and someone 20 ranks below may still get that seat

for example -
u get rank 110 and want surgery in tvm, but when ur turn comes, seats are available only in alleppey- u take it and become ineligible for a higher surgery seat in second counseling,
ur friend at 125 also wanted surgery, but had to take Pathology and gave sx as the first option- he may end up with a surgery seat in tvm.

this system of counseling depends more on ur luck than ur merit. all will have to make sacrifices in order to avoid losing the subject of our choice.

this is unlike last year when we could give 20+ options with course and colleges and be sure to get a decent chance.
who makes all these fantastic rules?

hi frnd
i wonder from whose brain these stupid ideas arise. the pathetic situation is these are from dme office.....where a doctor is the head......what to do.....but we must appreciate their ability to make things the most complicated.....they are damn sure this will end up in court.....i doubt if there is some alliance between dme office and advocates in high court.......
every yr when dme conducts the cap there are atleast 5 cases in high court.....
last yr there was only one mistake....the entrance commissioner did the counselling a little bit late....but we cant blame them.... 4 the first time there was second counselling in all india....that was the cause of the delay....
even then the did it in wonder ful way without cheating the merits of students
the dme people are doing the cap only to cheat merit and effort of students.....
they dont have the infrastructure, experience. staff or brain to receive 20 options from students
but the entrance commissioner have atleast some experience.......(may be because they are conducting the mbbs/engineering admission......u konw more than 100 eng colleges and many different branches in each eng col....like civil electrical electronics.....
)
take med pg admission........just 5 colleges a maximum of 30 to 35 courses including degree diploma all
but people are reluctant to use the experience of the commissioner office.....i agree there will be burden for 1 or 2 days...but u dont have to cry at the end of the counselling that u r cheated and u dont have to wait in front of high court expecting the delayed justice.....

all that we can do at present is to pray to god to fill the dme office people,s with some some gray matter..........

heard that in the 2006 counselling, some intelligent guy with rank 400+ had got md.skin in a particular college while all his friends ahead gave options like md med, anaesth, surgery etc..... ending up with nothing!

expect nothing more this time unless we react against this idiotic idea!!!

the explanation that the couselling guys are going to give most probably will be -that in 2007 counselling many seats had been lapsed, causing havoc. Now thats true, but just a little IQ can solve that!
It happened because the 2nd and 3rd allotments were online, with perfectly nil transparency ;and even people who wrote letters forfeiting their seats for others sake, were not considered. thank god the court came in.....
all that is needed is to conduct atleast one reallotment on an interview basis.....

or else we can rely on astrology for our future.... atleast its more scientific than kerala counselling !
