just post sl no, marks and experience marks of those whom you know and yours, ofcourse. lets try forming a ranklist in this thread.
let me start it.

we can reasonably conclude if we calculate the proportion of service and non service candidates within 500 ranks and their service marks from last years merit list. this is what i have compiled
those who have
10 marks--19 persons within 500 ranks
9 marks--7 persons
8 marks--17 persons
7 marks--21 persons
6 marks--24 persons
5 marks--44 persons
4 marks--59 persons
3 marks---30
2 marks--88 persons only nonservice candidates
1 mark--184 persons--only nonservice candidates
0 marks--33 persons--only nonservice candidates
this years data will also not deviate much from the data above according to pure statistics.
so from the above data one can reasonably conclude teir rank from their current marks.

You have posted the sl.no and marks of 12 candidates. But without their experience marks, pri/ser status or community , it is difficult to get the full benefit from your post. Do try finding it. that will benefit us a lot.

1. You have taken time to collect so much info of last year's counselling and post in this thread. A good effort,I should say.
2. I would like to tell you something regarding this. Last year, a fresh set of service candidates, recruited three years back,i think 2003, were eligible for tnpgmee2007. So there was a tough competition and a lot of service candidates cruised into the top500. There was no service exam
in the next year, i.e., 2004. This is what i was told. So i dont expect so many service candidates within top 500. Thus, calculating from last year's list will not give us a fair idea regarding our rank.
This is what i feel..... Do correct me if i m wrong.
