Quick Scroll what really is the recognition status of of MP seats - lets 03.12.08 (4 months ago) #1

Calendar Event: March 13, 2008

Hey guys!
I am a student from GMC Bhopal. I got 313 rank in AIPGE . I have opted for MS orthopaedics from GMC itself. There is a lot of confusion going on with the suffix 'A' added in the vacancy position list for colleges from MP. A lot of people ridiculed me on my choice, since i was getting MS orthopaedics from other good places as well. I gotta few things to say, just to clear issues and maybe help some anxious people out there

My dad is in GMC faculty, pretty senior too, and he assembled info from various sources including the dean himself. Everyone sensible is of the opinion that the derecognition issue is a political one, with the state and the central govt. being of opposition parties. Anyways all MP colleges will be cleared soon, and i have got sources in DGHS, DME Bhopal and most of other places where it matters. One fellow, who joined MD Paeds in Bhopal met the DGHS himself, and the almighty Director general himself told him that all seats will be recognised soon. Now if thats not credible, i dont know what is.

A few folks are really anxious, whether they should prepare seriously for MP Pre PG or not. Well guys, give it your best shot. GMC Bhopal and MGMC Indore are really good colleges. I used to curse my college to hell, but i got to know of conditions prevailing in some of the colleges across India, even in the better states, and let me tell you that if you have a will to learn, there is enough patient flux through these 2 colleges that you can put up to your collegues from even the very so called elite colleges.

My decision to opt for GMC bhopal was a very confident one. I will stay at my parent institution, in my home city and channelize my energy to get a good post doctoral fellowship. Your work and your dedication is what matters most, only those who want to learn will learn evetually. No amount of spoon feeding in the form of PG teaching is expected to work at this level. Books are good, and there a lotta patients to learn basic skills.

Best of luck to all for MP pre PG

Thanks Ryma
The doubts that students will face when they appear for counselling will be immense. Lets say medicine is recognised while OBGYN is not in a particular college. If some person is interested in OBGYN, she might still opt for medicine thinking that its recognised. I just hope everyone makes an informed decision.

MCI Inspection is due in early april. This is so becoz later in april we have the MD/MS exams. The final status will become clear only after that.

there is a lot of confusion man!

every college seems to have its own set of rules becoz jerks at DME have set no firm rules.

I can tell u whats being done in GMC, Bhopal.

bond amount for PG seat : Rs. 3,00,000
Years of service : 3

For students who have taken All india quota seats both in PMT and Pre-PG : No bond

For students who have taken admission thru MP exam, either the PMT or Pre PG seat(or on both occasions) : above mentioned bond will apply.

In MGMC Indore, Whatever PG seat you take you fill up the above bond.Doesnt matter if you come from MP or All India quota

Dont know abt the rest of the colleges.
